1964年生于湖南长沙。

1984年于南京航空航天大学航空系本科毕业,1986年于北航经济管理学院研究生毕业,1992年获北航工学博士学位。

1986年在北航参加工作至今,分别于1992、1995、1997年开始任副教授、教授、博士生导师。曾经分别在香港理工大学、香港科技大学、英国Newcastle大学的土木工程系工作一至两年。

1998年获国家杰出青年科学研究基金,2004年入选新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选,2005年带领团队获得国家创新群体科学基金、2008年获得第二期创新群体科学基金,2006年获得第六届中国青年科学家奖提名奖(管理科学),2008年被聘为教育部长江学者特聘教授。2012年担任国家重大基础科学研究973项目首席科学家(2012CB725400)。2012年获复旦管理学杰出贡献奖。2014年获中国系统工程学会“系统科学与系统工程理论贡献奖”。所指导博士生李志纯获得2008年度全国百篇优秀博士学位论文奖、刘天亮获2010年度提名奖、郭仁拥获2011年度提名奖。

现任中国系统工程学会、中国优选法统筹法与经济数学研究会、中国管理科学与工程学会副理事长,国务院第七届学科评议组(管理科学与工程)成员,国家自然科学基金委员管理科学部学科评议组专家、专家咨询委员会委员,国家社科基金学科规划评审组专家,《Transportation Research Part B》(SCI)、《J. of Adv. Transportation》(SCI)、《Transportmetrica Part A》(SCI)、《Transportation Letters》(SCI)、《系统工程理论与实践》、《管理科学学报》、《交通运输系统工程与信息》、《系统科学与数学》等刊物编委。曾任国家自然科学基金委员会管理科学部副主任、北航经济管理学院副院长院长、北航研究生院常务副院长。2011年7月当选ISTTT国际顾问委员会委员。

主要研究领域:交通运输系统建模与分析、交通行为经济学、道路交通流模型、生产运作管理。迄今已在 Operations Research(2篇)、Transportation Science(2篇)、Transportation Research Part B(22篇)、Part A(3篇)、Part C(5篇)、Part D(1篇)、Part E(5篇)、EJOR(6篇)、JORS(2篇)、J.
