讲者简介：Ruggiero Lovreglio (Rino) is a Professor at Massey University, a Rutherford Discovery Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, and Co-Chair of the International Association for Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management. He serves as Associate Editor for Safety Science and Fire Technology, sits on the editorial boards of several leading journals, and regularly reviews grants for major international funding bodies. He has received multiple awards, including the 2020 Massey Research Medal (Early Career), the 2020 College of Science Research Award (Early Career), and the SFPE "5 Under 35" Award in 2022. His research focuses on human behavior in disasters, evacuation modelling, and safety training, leveraging digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, and BIM.
内容简介：Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are emerging technologies in many research fields, as they can help expose participants to a wide variety of scenarios. Today, VR and AR can support many new research projects in the safety science field, as they allow researchers to recreate emergency scenarios in a cost-effective way. This presentation will provide an overview of how VR and AR have been adopted to design evacuation systems, investigate human behaviours in disasters, support safety training, and enhance community preparedness. Prof Lovreglio will present recent case studies and share insights on the challenges and opportunities of using VR and AR for safety research and beyond.
